Meet Miss Moore!
My name is Tara Moore and I am so excited to be teaching first grade at Woodland Park Academy! This is my eighth year teaching, with all of those years being at the early childhood and kindergarten level. The early elementary years are such an amazing time in a young child’s life. I love nurturing young minds and helping the children become excited about the learning process. I graduated from Hillsdale College with a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education with minors in Early Childhood Education, English and History and I currently am working on my Masters in Literacy.
I was raised in the areas of Chicago, Illinois, and Chesaning, MI. I am the youngest of five children, and I am very blessed to have nine nieces and nephews and four great-nieces and great-nephews! This past summer, I got engaged, and I will be making my future home in Davison.
When I am not in the classroom, I enjoy traveling to see my family, planning my upcoming wedding, being crafty, bicycling and watching Chicago sports! I also love to read, and I love passing on that passion for books to my students.
I am a teacher that cherishes depth of knowledge and encourages curiosity. I believe in providing an environment that supports the education of the “whole child” at all levels. I always aim to provide an interactive and creative environment where each child can succeed at his or her own level. I teach with passion on every topic with the belief that this passion is infectious. It is my wish that in my classroom, a child will create each day, will be enriched with knowledge each day, and will imagine the possibilities each day.
