Hello, I am the 6th through 8th grade Science Teacher and this is my fifth full year with Woodland Park Academy. I am a graduate of the University of Michigan, with a bachelors in the art of education. Teaching Science has always been a passion of mine simply because i believe that when students can visually see or are actively engaged in something, they will learn at a deeper level. I love anything outdoors, hiking, camping, snowboarding, wakeboarding, photography and much much more!!!!!

Middle school students will actively participate in an inquiry based learning environment. This process of Inquiry involves generating questions, conducting investigations, and developing solutions to problems through reasoning and observation. Inquiry also includes an analysis and presentation of findings that lead to future questions, research and investigations. Students will also be able to reflect upon their inquiry's and view their social implications. Students decide what constitutes scientific knowledge, develop an importance of reflecting on scientific knowledge and how to apply new knowledge to different situations to better understand the role of science in society and technology.
