My name is Stacy Wheat. This is my second year teaching at Woodland Park Academy. I am very excited to spend the year with the students in my classroom and look forward to a great year. I graduated from the University of Michigan. I have a major in Elementary Education and minors in language arts, social studies and early childhood education.
I have been married to my husband Ron for eighteen years and two beautiful children ages 14 and 11. I am originally from Indiana where most of my family still lives. My husband’s job transferred us here to Michigan about seventeen years ago. Family is very important to me so I take every opportunity to spend time with them when we can. I like to spend time on the water either boating or watching my children ski. I also enjoy scrap booking, traveling, exercising and watching the various sporting events my children are involved in.
As a teacher it is my goal to provide a safe and positive learning environment that is adaptable to all learning styles. It is important to me that all of my students enjoy their first grade experience and leave my classroom with the confidence to be successful next year as well as the tools to be successful in life. To accomplish these goals we will work together as a community to learn to respect each other and to do the best we can within that classroom community.
