Computers with Mrs. Konen
Welcome Parents and Students!  My name is Allyson Konen and I teach K- 8th grade computers, and a  6-8th grade Leadership Elective.  Throughout the school year your students will work with the following programs:  Edvision, Typershark, Career Cruising, and the basics of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Edvision- A program required by Central Michigan University that students 3-8th must complete.  Students are tested in both reading and math within a 3 week window.  Testing results allow teachers to monitor their student’s progress in both of these subject areas.  This program is essential to maintain accreditation with CMU.

Typershark- Software that works with using the correct finger placement (home row) on the keyboard.    It also helps to increase students typing speed and accuracy.

Career Cruising- Helps students develop an EDP (Educational Development Plan).  This website will allow students (grades 6th-8th) to work with a career matchmaker, and explore careers, colleges and universities.  This website is also accessible to students both at school and at home.

Classroom Expectations
1.  Treat me, your teacher, with the same respect I treat you.
2.  Your actions may not cause a problem for anyone else.
3.  If you cause a problem, you will be asked to solve it.
4.  If you cannot solve the problem or choose not to, I will do something.  What I do will depend upon the situation and the person involved.
