All About Mrs. Gilbert
Hello and welcome to the 2010-2011 school year! This is my second year teaching at Woodland Park Academy. I teach 5th through 8th grade students with special needs. I also perform the duties of the Special Education Director for the school. I grew up in Clio and attended Clio Schools. My parents still live in the same house I grew up in. I have one sister. She lives in Ann Arbor with her husband. I am very close to my extended family also. We have many family get-togethers throughout the year. I live in the Flint area with my husband.
I have a Bachelor of Arts degree in Secondary Education from Saginaw Valley State University and a Master of Arts degree in Special Education from the University of Michigan - Flint. I enjoy reading, listening to music, attending concerts, and spending time with my family and friends. I enjoy going to new places and having new experiences. I have traveled to several countries in Europe in the past. I have also traveled to Canada and several states in the United States. I play the Bass Clarinet and I have played in local community bands in the past. I have also played with the band here at school in the past. I am a huge University of Michigan football fan! GO BLUE!
I am looking forward to working with the students at the school and having a successful school year. If you have any questions, comments, or concerns, please feel free to call or e-mail me.
