About Mrs. Martin
I am the State & Federal Funds Director and Reading Specialist at Woodland Park Academy. This is my eleventh year at Woodland and I just love it! Our amazing teachers and wonderful kids make every day exhilarating. As the State & Federal Funds Director, I oversee our Kindergarten through Eighth grade Intervention Program, Title I implementation, and supporting classroom teachers with Common Core curriculum implementation.
Woodland Park Academy’s Intervention Team focuses on supporting students in Reading, Math, Science and Social Studies during an extra 30 minutes of small group instruction throughout the school day.
I have two beautiful daughters; Ella (3) and Amelia (3 months). They are so precious to me and I love watching them grow and learn. We read a book before bed every night. Ella will not let us get away without reading two books to her AND having time to read to herself.
Reading is my favorite hobby. I read all the time and especially love young adult novels. If you have any recommendations, let me know! I also collect signed book by authors and illustrators. WPA has had some amazing authors visit us; Lisa Wheeler (2007), Kelly DiPucchio (2008), Marci Curtis (2009), Lucinda Mitchell (2009), and Paleo Joe (2011). Who do you want this year?
I love it when students I have taught stop by for a visit. You have a special place in my heart and are always welcome! And parents too!
