Welcome to the Physical Education. This is going to be a great year and we have a lot planned for your child this year. I am looking forward to getting to know and work with you and your child. Working together we can make this your child’s best year yet. We will be doing a lot of new and fun things this year. There are a few things that I want to inform you of as we get the year started. If at anytime you have any questions or concerns please do not hesitate to contact me. My information is below. I will make every effort to contact you on a regular basis. I am confident that by working together we can make this a great year for your child.

There are several different ways to get a hold of me. My email address is Rerickson@wp-academy.org. I check my email several times throughout the day and will respond as soon as I can to your concerns. You may also call my voicemail at 810-695-4710. This is the school’s number but it will direct you to my voicemail. Here again I check this throughout the day and will call you back as soon as possible. If you need to conference with me in person please call me to set up an appointment. I am not able to accommodate conference requests during the school day without an appointment.
Classroom Rules and Discipline
I have but one classroom rule: Do not do anything that will disrupt the teacher from teaching or the students from learning. Woodland Park is heading in a new direction with its discipline policy. Several interventions will be made for students who are being disruptive. This includes but is not limited to a time out space in the classroom. Should these interventions fail to work a parent contact will be made by me. Should the problems persist the students will be referred to the office and to the Bridge room with Mr. Tiggert. Problems that are more serious in nature will immediately be referred to office.
