This is my 9th year teaching strings at Woodland Park Academy!  I have played viola since the age of ten, and participated in Clawson’s school orchestras and choirs.  I also played in Metropolitan Youth Symphony of Southfield, and Fairland Youth Chamber Group of Dearborn.

I attended the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor as a Viola Performance Major, and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music and Psychology in 1991.  When I finally realized what I wanted to be when I grew up, I went back to school and received my Teacher’s Certificate through Oakland University.

I have spent most of my life playing, singing and enjoying music.  My goal is to help students discover their own love of music, and help guide them through the learning process through patience, practice and performance.

I enjoy playing chamber music, recording in the music studio, and performing with local orchestras such as Oakland Symphony, Rochester Symphony, Warren Symphony and Macomb Symphony.  I also sing in a vocal trio that performs music of the 1940’s and ‘50’s.  When I’m not teaching, singing or playing viola, I like to read, garden, go boating, and spend time with my husband and our two children, ages 5 and 3.
