From the Desk of Mrs. DeBano
Once upon a time there was a beautiful, wonderful, amazing teacher. (Hey, it’s my story.) This amazing teacher worked at Woodland Park Academy and taught 4th grade. She loved her students and had fun learning with them every day. Then one day she heard of a new opportunity at Woodland Park. In this new position the teacher would work with students in small groups and help them learn important and challenging skills. This teacher was me – Mrs. DeBano, and that is the story of how I became an Intervention Teacher.
As an intervention teacher I work with the 4th through 8th grade students in our Response to Intervention program (RtI). This year we added several teachers, and now our team has a total of four teachers for the 4th - 8th grade RtI Program. We work with all of the students in 4th, 5th and 6th grade during a 30 minute block four days a week. In 7th and 8th grade, we work with students during their elective times. Our goal is to provide instruction to meet the unique needs of every student.
When I am not working with our awesome students, I like to spend time with my family. My daughter is in high school and took driver’s training over the summer! I also enjoy walking our dogs, Lucy and Buddy; riding my bike and reading.
